Polish Pavilion at the 1939 New York World’s Fair

With the outbreak of World War II and the closing of the World’s Fair in 1940, the objects presented at the Polish Pavilion could not return to Poland. Thankfully, many Pavilion artifacts were acquired by the Polish Museum of America in 1941. 2019 marks the 80th Anniversary of the Polish Pavilion. In October, the Polish Museum will host a commemorative exhibition, presenting restored permanent displays of artifacts from the Polish Pavilion
